Developing Social Media In Your Parish Through Facebook

Date:14th Nov 2016

The Partnership in Ministry strand in our pastoral plan asks us to explore new ways of online communication to highlight the changing reality in our Diocese.  In response to this, the Diocese has decided to offer two practical workshops, free of charge, where participants can learn this new skill.  This initiative will encourage people to take on more responsibility for the communication aspect of parish life.

Initiatives such as this are vitally important as we strive to create sustainable faith communities into the future.

This training will assume no prior knowledge of Facebook and participants do not need any formal I.T training as each workshop will be facilitated in a simple step by step approach. If your parish already has a Facebook page, then participants are welcome to come along and refresh their skills and meet others doing this important work. Perhaps you have a group operating in your parish that you feel might benefit from this training.

The first evening takes place on October 17th in the Clare Education Centre, Kilrush Road, Ennis, from 8.00 p.m. to 9.30 pm with a follow up session on November 14th from 8.00 p.m. -9.30 p.m.

Parishes are invited to book in one or two representatives who would be interested in taking on this responsibility.  See attached a copy of the brochure that you can give to those who might be interested in attending.  Pre-booking is essential due to the hands-on nature of the workshop.  All further details are on the brochure.
