Pilgrimage to Holy Island - May 2012

On Saturday 26th May leaders of the Christian communities in the East Clare area came together to celebrate Pentecost.

The day began with a gathering at St. Caimin's Church in Mountshannon and included a visit to Holy Island or Inis Cealtra on Lough Derg.

The pilgrims walked to St. Cronan's Church in Tuamgraney where they celebrated evening prayer together. The day marked the first visit by Bishop Kieran O'Reilly to Holy Island since his ordination as Bishop of the Diocese.
