Farewell to Fr. Tomasz

Fr._Tomasz_and_Servers On Trinity Sunday 3rd June Fr Tomasz Daukszewicz, the Polish chaplain assigned to the Killaloe Diocese for the last 5 years, celebrated his last public Mass in Ennis Cathedral for the Polish community.

On Wednesday 7th June Fr. Tomasz leaves the Killaloe Diocese and returns to minister in his native Poland. In 2007 at the invitation of Bishop Willie Walsh the then Bishop of Killaloe, Fr. Tomasz came to minister to the Polish community living and working in the Killaloe Diocese. Based in the Cathedral in Ennis his outreach brought him west as far as Kilrush and Kilkee, south to Shannon and over the east to Nenagh, Roscrea & Birr. Fr. Tomasz responded to the pastoral needs of Polish migrants living in our diocese in a variety of ways in times of sorrow and joy. As he completes his term this week we thank him for his presence, ministry and generosity of service in the Killaloe Diocese. At his final Mass in the Cathedral the Polish community presented him with gifts which included a painting of Ennis Cathedral in appreciation of his presence among them over the 5 years that he served in the Diocese.
