Launch of Pastoral Plan

069_Bishop_Kieran_OReilly_SMA Builders of Hope - A Pastoral Plan for the Diocese of Killaloe will be launched on Friday September 13th in the Cathedral of Ss. Peter and Paul Ennis at 7.15pm.

In response to an invitation from Bishop Kieran O’Reilly an extensive listening process took place across the Diocese of Killaloe in 2012. The concerns and hopes of the people who participated in the process form the basis of the Pastoral Plan. Two on-line surveys which included the participation of over 1,000 young people are also reflected in the final document.

The Pastoral Plan 2013-2020 consists of a Vision Statement and a number of strands that point to some of the key areas of work for all of the people of the Diocese into the future. These strands include plans for: Leadership, Partnership, Liturgy, Prayer & Spirituality, Youth Ministry, Adult Faith Education, Justice & Peace, Safeguarding Services, Communications and Resources. Each strand has well defined goals that will strive to make our Christian Communities vibrant places where all can experience God’s love.

The title of the Pastoral Plan is “Builders of Hope” which is taken from the words of Pope Francis; “Don’t be scared. Dare to have fabulous plans. I encourage you to not be afraid to dream, to have great ideals, to be builders of Hope.”

The plan will be launched by Bishop Kieran on Friday 13th September at 7.15pm in the Cathedral of Ss. Peter and Paul in Ennis. The launch of the plan will coincide with the start of the Faith Gathering Weekend which is expected to draw great numbers from across the Diocese of Killaloe.
