Year of Mercy Closing Liturgy

A full Cathedral participated in a special liturgy to mark the closing of the Year of Mercy in Ennis yesterday afternoon. The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Fintan who had closed the door of Mercy in the monastery in Roscrea earlier in the afternoon.

Presentation of John Paul II Awards

On Thursday 10th November 134 young people from all across the Diocese of Killaloe were honoured with John Paul II Awards. Gold, Silver, Bronze and Papal Crosses were presented in The Inn at Dromoland by Bishop Fintan Monahan and Mr. Tom McEvoy of Pieta House who was the special guest speaker on the evening.

Bishop Fintan Monahan has appointed Fr. Des Hillery, P.P. Nenagh as Vicar General of the Diocese of Killaloe. Fr Hillery who is a native of Milltown Malbay, Co. Clare was educated at St Flannan’s College, Ennis and St Patrick’s College Maynooth.
