The Killaloe Diocese Spirituality Group are hosting a day of quiet and reflection on October 8th 2016, in Mt St Joseph’s Abbey, Roscrea. The day will be led by John Doherty who has been teaching on meditation and the contemplative path for over 25 years. All are welcome.

On Sunday last we celebrated with joy the Ordination of our new Bishop Fintan Monahan in the Cathedral of Ss. Peter and Paul in Ennis. Sincere thanks to all who contributed in any way to making the day so special and meaningful.

The Partnership in Ministry strand in our pastoral plan asks us to explore new ways of online communication to highlight the changing reality in our Diocese. In response to this, the Diocese has decided to offer two practical workshops, free of charge, where participants can learn this new skill. This initiative will encourage people to take on more responsibility for the communication aspect of parish life.

Pope Francis addressed newly-appointed bishops in the Vatican’s Clementine Hall on Friday. Among the attendance was our new Bishop-Elect, Fr. Fintan, as he prepares for his ordination next Sunday. The Pope reminded them of the thrill of being loved in advance by God and exhorted them to ‘make mercy pastoral’.
