On Tuesday 23rd October the Veritas Bookshop in Ennis was the venue for the launch of a new publication by Killaloe Priest Fr. Maurice Harmon along with Elaine Mahon. The book is a very useful collection of Prayer Assemblies for Primary Schools.
This book contains forty ready-to-use prayer assemblies based on themes from the academic and liturgical year. It can be used by principals, teachers, school
chaplains or parish workers who visit schools or classrooms. Combining ease of use with creative ideas for prayer, this book also comes with a CD of music to match each of the assemblies.
The book was launched by Professor Michael A. Hayes who is President of Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.
Maurice Harmon is a lecturer in the Department of Learning, Society, and Religious Education at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick and a priest of the Diocese of Killaloe. He is a former Diocesan Advisor for Primary Religious Education in the Diocese of Killaloe.
Elaine Mahon is a primary school teacher who holds a Masters in Religious Education. She has worked as a Diocesan Advisor for Primary Religious Education in the Dublin Archdiocese and as a lecturer in Religious Education at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. Elaine is currently employed as a Catechetical Specialist for Veritas. She is co-author, with Maeve Mahon, of Come, Gather and Celebrate: Praying the New Missal with Children.
