The Annual Mass for members of the Defence Forces who work in Co. Clare was held in the Franciscan Friary Ennis on the vigil of the Feast of The Immaculate Conception .
This Mass is an opportunity for serving, former and retired members to come together to pray and remember times and service together and pray for
deceased colleagues.
Members of the 32nd Infantry Batt B.Company organise this yearly Mass. Comd Cha Reynolds the officer in charge lit four candles at the beginning of the Mass to remember members who served in Co. Clare in the LDF, FCA, RDF and the PDF. A Colour party under the command of LT. Kieran O’Connor rendered Honours to the Blessed Sacrament during the Mass.
The Friary Junior Choir under the Direction of Michelle Hennessy sang at the Mass.
This is an opportunity for the Diocese to thank the RDF for their participation in various ceremonies in our parishes throughout the year., especially at the Blessing of Shamrock and St. Patrick’s Day Masses in various parishes. The 32nd Inf Batt also provided a guard of honour for Bishop Kieran at his Episcopal Ordination in the Cathedral on 29th August 2010
