19 January 2017 in Diocesan News |With the appointment of a new Bishop new committees and groups are put in place to assist him with the governance of the diocese. Many of these groups have been put in place over the last few months and have had some of their initial meetings already.
21 December 2016 in Diocesan News |The Killaloe Diocese is organising a once off pilgrimage to Fatima for the Centenary Year 2017 and a visit to the shrine of St. Anthony in Lisbon. The pilgrimage will be direct from Shannon Airport on Easter Monday 17th April, returning Friday 21st April. (Easter week)
20 December 2016 in Diocesan News |The Diocese will host a second day with John F. Doherty on Saturday, February 11th 2017. This day will follow on from the day on Sacred Stillness facilitated by John in October 2016. The February day is entitled ‘Into Great Love’ with emphasis on the inner journey through mediation. All are welcome – whether you were able to make the first day or not.
07 December 2016 in Diocesan News |Each year on one of the Sundays of Advent children and families bring the crib figure of the Baby Jesus to St. Peter's Square in Rome to be blessed by the Pope in preparation for Christmas. This is known as Bambinelli Sunday.

21 November 2016 in Diocesan News |A full Cathedral participated in a special liturgy to mark the closing of the Year of Mercy in Ennis yesterday afternoon. The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Fintan who had closed the door of Mercy in the monastery in Roscrea earlier in the afternoon.
14 November 2016 in Diocesan News |On Thursday 10th November 134 young people from all across the Diocese of Killaloe were honoured with John Paul II Awards. Gold, Silver, Bronze and Papal Crosses were presented in The Inn at Dromoland by Bishop Fintan Monahan and Mr. Tom McEvoy of Pieta House who was the special guest speaker on the evening.
20 October 2016 in Diocesan News |Fr. Arnold Rosney, CC, Shannon has been appointed by Bishop Fintan Monahan to be diocesan delegate to head up the preparations for the World Meeting of Families which is due to take place in Dublin in August 2018.
