The death has taken place of Fr. Tom O'Dea, Assistant Priest in Ballynacally/Lissycasey Parish. Fr Tom was born on 16th December 1933 in Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare.  He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tucson, Arizona on 7th June 1958.

Pope Francis has announced a Holy Year of Mercy beginning on 8 December next. The Diocese has invited Fr Dermot Ryan, President, St Kieran's College, Kilkenny, Lecturer in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth and Coordinator of Adult Faith Development in the Diocese of Ossary, to introduce us to the year. He will give a talk entitled 'Pope Francis and Mercy - A Worldly weakness, a Christian Strength" at the following locations.

HEARING HAPPENING HOPING is a support for reading and praying the Sunday Gospel during Advent.  It is a three step process which can be used individually or with a group.  A one page guide for each of the four Sundays of Advent is available on the Killaloe Diocesan website.  If you or a group you know would like to do something to prepare to welcome Christ at Christmas this resource will help you.  The aim is to help people to come face-to-face with God’s Word. It is not a Bible course, but a focus for reading, reflecting and praying. It requires no training—the Word is already in our hearts.   Just try it!

Archdeacon John F. Hogan A.P. Puckane, Co. Tipperary had died. Fr John was a native of Crusheen, Co. Clare born on October 28th 1928 and was a priest of the Diocese of Killaloe for 61 years.
