A Prayer for Protection – Creative Writing Competition

Fr. Arnie Rosney (PP Shannon and Killaloe Diocesan Director of Social Media) has launched an initiative to encourage creativity for those spending more time at home these weeks. He is inviting people to compose a prayer, a reflection, a short story or a poem that reflects the need to pray for protection for ourselves and those we love at this time.

“With so many people spending so much more time at home these days, I thought that it might be a good idea to ask them to explore their creative side.” said Fr. Arnie, launching the initiative. “Creative writing can be very therapeutic and calming and I am inviting people to connect the emotions they are experiencing these days with their faith and find new ways of expressing the desires of their hearts”

Fr. Arnie is giving people as much freedom for their creativity as possible. There is no age restriction or word limit for the competition. It is open to everybody. He is offering two prizes of €50 book tokens in each category – Prayer, Poem, Short Story, Reflection.

The closing date for receipt of entries is 12noon on the 19th April 2020
