Pilgrimage in Killaloe Diocese

There is a strong tradition of Pilgrimage in the Diocese of Killaloe

 

Lourdes

Each year there are two diocesan pilgrimages to Lourdes one in June and the second in October.

 

Lough Derg

On the first week of August, starting on the bank-holiday Monday St. Patrick’s Purgatory in Lough Derg, Co. Donegal is the destination.

 

Drumelihy

Beginning on the 15th of August, the Feast of the Assumption at 6.00 am begins an annual Novena to Our Lady’s Shrine in Drumelihy in the Parish of Cooraclare, Kilmacduane.  Some others include St. Cunlán’s Well in Youghlarrra, St. Joseph’s well in Barefield, Latteragh and many others… There are numerous other pilgrimages, pattern and Saint day pilgrimages also.
